Dogtooth- 2020

To capture the essence of the imposed restrictions on the individual; this project was shot in my home town Meybod, where individuality was seldom expressed, and the societal pressure of conformity is inescapable. What is being portrayed is unique individuals weighed down by threads that entangle their free movement, threads that are very restrictive despite their fragility. To the restricted individual, autonomy and sovereignty over their own bodies is merely a dream. We step away to escape the peculiar man-made obstructions and stand in disbelief that our salvation is only reached through impeding our natural expressions.  

Amidst a deep effort to break free, a relentless force is holding us back, we only see how we want to head, but have no clue on how to break the ties that are imposed on us.
